CREDinGREEN is a European partnership that brings together experts from the tourism industry and the education sector. The project's primary goal is to develop an innovative and flexible training program tailored to help company managers and staff address the long-term challenges facing the tourism sector. These challenges include the urgent need for climate action and the significant impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic. By equipping industry professionals with the necessary skills and knowledge, CREDinGREEN aims to foster a more resilient and sustainable tourism industry that can thrive in the face of these evolving global issues. The training program emphasizes practical solutions, sustainability practices, and adaptive strategies to ensure that the tourism sector remains competitive and environmentally responsible. This 2-year cooperation project was co-funded by the EU Commission through the Erasmus+ programme.
What is the EU GREEN DEAL?
In response to the pressing challenges of climate change, the European Union launched the European Green Deal in 2019. This initiative strives to transform the EU into a modern, resource-efficient, and competitive economy. All 27 EU Member States have united in their commitment to climate action, with a goal of making the continent climate-neutral by 2050. As part of this commitment, they have pledged to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by at least 55% by 2030. The European Green Deal encompasses a wide range of policies and measures designed to promote sustainable industry practices, foster innovation in green technologies, and ensure a just transition for all sectors of society.
